Any way to replace G5 motherboard with Intel motherboard using old G5 case?

I have a 2004 20" iMac G5 1.8Ghz 1.5Gb RAM (before iSight) who's logic board failed. I am wonder if there is ANY way to replace the G5 motherboard with an Intel motherboard using the old case? I suspect the answer is likely no but has anyone done it and, if so, how and what mods did they do? I have another G5 iMac I just bought off of eBay so this is an extra machine that I would be willing to experiment on.

Any suggestions?

iMac G5, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

It is not possible. If you still have the original logic board and it has not been further damaged in removing or handling it, it can quite likely be refurbished—to correct the defective capacitor issue which plagued such logic boards—for $ 189.00.

If you are interested in exploring that option, send a message to the electronic mail address in my Public Profile.

I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.
