Sony Handycam HDR - TG7VE

I'm a big fan of the 'pistol grip' type of video cameras. I have been using a Sanyo Xacti for two years and want to upgrade to HD. I am considering a Sony HDR - TG7VE as it has many nifty features and I would appreciate any comments from those on this forum who may have one or know how they would work with my iMac using iMovie 09.
