Install certificate error

Install certificate error

I have been trying for at least a month to install the new iTunes. Every time it gets in the middle of the install it errors out saying there is an invalid certificate.

Go into IE > tools > Internet options > content tab and press the button to clear SSL state.

You can also press the Certificates button, and go through all the tabs and delete ones that are expired.

I found it. For Firefox it is under Tools / Options / Advanced / View Certificates
That will only give you a list of Names and Devices. Highlight the one you think it might be then click on view to see the expiration dates.

Right now I am on a different computer. I will try it later on my iTunes computer.

There is no certificate for Apple or iTunes on the computer in question.
I checked both FF and IE

Can you get QuickTime standalone to install OK?

Make sure to get the version withOUT iTunes.

That fixed it. I installed just QT from the download then went back into iTunes and checked for updates. It downloaded and installed properly.
