Macbook with mini dvi to HDMi adapter - TV just showing no signal
my macbook (white 2.2ghz macbook 3,1) won't detect my Polaroid 32" tv. (i know this b/c it wont let me select mirror mode on the displays menu) any tips? will i need to downgrade my OS? i read here that some people had that problem.
yes my tv has 2 hdmi inputs... tried both with both hdmi cables i have (tried all combinations and none work). but i went to my brother in laws today to test it on his LG 42" tv that is newer and it worked first try. so either i need some sort of driver for my tv or the communication is corrupted... thoughts?
What is the native resolution of the TV?
Open System Preferences / Displays to Enable the Menu Bar displays or use SP itself.
Then you can Detect Displays.
You should be able to set a "compatible" resolution even if it isn't yours, i.e., 1280x720 or 1920x1080.
Mirroring should be optional in secondary SP Arrangement and can be selected also in the MB.

well the only way i could get it to work was to pull the hdmi cable slowly out of the adapter until the tv registered at a ... well tv, instead of a monitor. then everything would work until the adapter got bumped. really lame
