Trying to calibrate Asus VH242H monitor?

I was using a Asus 23.6 HD monitor as just a movie screen with my macbook but now I have it setup to use it as the main display. But it is not calibrated and using the display options in system settings did not help. One of the most annoying problems is that text, when browsing the web or menu headings don't appear very clear; they seem broken and unfocused. I looked up some program called ColorEyes Pro, but I'm not familiar with that type of program and don't know what I'm doing. Is there an easy way to calibrate my monitor so it has the best picture possible?

Hi!! I am sorry to not have an answer to your question, but I was curious if you could answer mine. I have the latest Mac updates and all, and have tried all VGA and DVI possibilities to hook my macbook up to my new VH242H. I can't figure it out!!! What shows up on the monitor is just the standard Mac 'Galaxy' image, and my mouse will work. but the actual screen of my Macbook will not show up. I started to think this monitor wasn't Mac compatible, but i see you got yours to work for movies, which is all I need. Please please PLEASE help me out! I've called ASUS twice and they haven't helped me a bit. Email me at mustard90@gmail.com. Thanks so much!!

You should be able to make the external monitor the main monitor.

Go to System Preferences\Displays\Arrangement\ - and drag the white rectangle which represents your menu bar to the other monitor. It will be come the primary monitor and your programs should show up there.

You can also drag the monitors around to make the left/right association proper depending on if your mac is on the left or right side of the external monitor.
