Can't Send, Reply or Forward email from iPhone

Hi All:

For some reason I can't send, reply or forward email from my iPhone. It was working yesterday. It is synching fine and I can receive and read email but I can't reply, forward or send from the iPhone. I am using mobileme and my standard comcast email account. I am thinking that maybe I messed something up in mobileme? Or perhaps the kids changed a setting on the iPhone? Any direction is much appreciated!

I'm having this same problem with my email through Yahoo. I'm receiving messages just fine but cannot reply, forward or create new. Was working up until 2 nights ago. No settings have been changed. Help?

I am having the same problem. I have two email accounts on my phone and am able to receive emails just fine and have not had any problems with fetching new messages or searching, but cannot write a new email or reply to an old.

I have resynced my accounts, check for updates and even deleted and reentered my account information and have no luck. It just started three days ago. It was not right after a sync, a download or any even minor change so I am at a loss.

I am having the same issue.

I have two MobleMe emails that i check... I was able to send email one day and not I can not send, reply nor forward from my iPhone 3Gs. I did notice that my email that I use for work (on the same family plan) says Fetch and the main account which handles my address and calendar says push.

Any help?

I'm having a similar issue with my iPhone. I've visited both AT&T and called Apple support for the problem. To sum it up, I can receive email on my iPhone Comcast account but cannot send. Apple support and I went through every possible scenario to fix and when it came down to it, feels it's an issue with the Comcast servers. I've left a call for Comcast support but have not heard back from them. I'm afraid it's going to get into a finger pointing problem and I'll be without the use of my mail account to send email. If anyone else has tried to call Comcast and has gotten resolution to the problem, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks to all!

Here's a new wrinkle to all of this. I also have an iTouch. It is sync'd on the same computer and has all the same applications, e-mail accounts, etc. The only difference is that I have not updated the iTouch with the latest software. I can send mail on my iTouch! I've double-checked the settings and they are identical on both phone and Touch. I'll call support again and see if we can now isolate an issue and hoping this will help!!!????

I have finally resolved the issue with sending my e-mail. I reset my iPhone back to factory settings. When prompted, do not sync your phone with your previous settings but instead, set it up as a new phone. I had previously saved all my photos, apps, music, etc. so had to re-introduce them one segment at a time to be sure there wasn't anything within any of it causing the conflict. It finally worked!!!! I had done this previously, but had re-sync'd with my previous settings. I am once again a happy iPhone owner. Glad it worked this time because the only other way I was able to send my e-mail was through the Comcast app and this has quit working!

I, too, am suddenly having problems sending mail. I get the message that the recipients address has been rejected. I deleted my mail account and re-installed but this did not fix the problem. I also followed all the steps in the troubleshooting assistant. I was able to send an e-mail to myself, and to another person with the same ISP. I have only had my i-phone a few weeks, but this problem suddenly appeared just a few days ago. The problem is with replies, forwards and plain mail of any kind. Never had any problems with my Blackberry!

I spent time with Apple support on Friday. While support was easy to reach, and the technician tried to be helpful, he could not figure out the problem. I had already done all of the steps outlined in the troubleshooting assistant. The technician suggested that I go through the RESTORE process back to the factory settings. To do this, I had to upgrade to v. 9 of i-tunes. I had a full backup, so I did not lose any apps. I did have to re-enter my "Favorites" in my contacts folder. The restore process did not fix the problem. I finally called my ISP. He figured out a solution that works for now. I turned OFF my primary server (the ISP server) and turned ON my alternate server -- which is my case is the AT&T SMTP server. I don't think the ultimate problem is resolved -- as I was previously able to send mail through my primary server -- but at least my mail function is now operational.

I have the same problem.

I have a Google business premier account and a Google personal account syncing. Up until 5-6 days ago it stopped working. I can receive fine, read them it updates my PC perfectly... but can't reply, forward or create a new message in either account.

*Here's the kicker* - I can go into my camera mode, snap a picture and mail it to someone _and it WORKS_! But that's it. I guess I could send people pictures of my answers!!! [hehehee that would be funny]

Seriously though, has anyone found a solution to this besides deleting the accounts and re-entering??? Which I read doesn't always fix it.
