First Win installation on Mac. How to?

I have a new iMac (Leopard) with plenty of memory. I have a Windows XP Home full version software (not yet used) and Parallels 4.0.

Can I install this in such a way as to be able to use Windows with both Boot Camp AND Parallels?

If so, what is the general order of how to do such??

I think this can be done, but I'd rather do it right the first time than have to do it several times over. I've already set up some stuff on the iMac that I don't want to redo if I don't have to...

Hi MomE,

this can be done.

First, install Windows using the BootCamp Assistant and follow the BootCamp Setup Guide precisely http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/.

Second, install the Parallels application and use your BootCamp Windows to make the Parallels Windows VM by following the instructions from the Parallels manual.

See here for problems that can arise with such configurations: http://kb.parallels.com/en/4672

Regards

Stefan
