Changing TM Drives: Restore fails

I am trying to change my TM drive from my current 500GB to a brand new 1.5TB drive.

I erased the new drive and named it TimeMachine, the old drive is Time Machine.

I followed the Restore procedure using Disk Utility with Time Machine as the Source and TimeMachine as the Destination.

At approx 10 mins into the Restore, Disk Utility quits with this error:

"Restore Failure
Could not restore - Operation not permitted"

Here's the log showing that there is a problem with AdbeRdr90 en_USi386.bom;

Steven,

Let's just make sure that you went through the correct steps....

1) Insure that the destination drive is using the GUID Partition Table scheme.

2) In Disk Utility, drag the source volume from the list at the left, into the "Source" field.

3) Next, drag the destination volume from the list at the left, into the "Destination" field.

4) Insure that "Erase Destination" is selected.

5) Click "Restore."

If you are sure that you followed these steps, there may be something wrong with the old volume. Some disk error, I would guess.

I first went into the folder that had the file that was crashing the restore and deleted all copies from inside TM properly. Then I started the process again, this time I checked "Erase Destination" which I hadn't last time since I'd just done that because the drive was brand new out of the box.

I'm getting farther than I did the other times I tried, so we'll see and I'll report back in the morning. Off to bed...

Thanks,
Steven
