Apple Talk configuration on Wireless Lan and Wired Lan

I have a printer on a Local Network that is used by WIN and OSX systems on my MacBook Pro I normally connect to my network via my wireless LAN, but in some circumstances I have to use the 802 wired LAN w

Whenever I switch from one connection to the other my Printer will not work as it indicated that Apple Talk is not working on the new network connection I have to go to the Network Preferences to change the setting so that Apple talk now works on the new network connection ...... why do I have to do this???? is there anyway around this not complicated problem it's just time consuming and frustrating.

Thanks
John
