You can't use MPEG4 in Final Cut Pro without lots of hassle.
They need to be converted to one of the editing codecs found in Final Cut Pro's Easy Setup menu.
What is the source of your footage and which version of FCP are you using?
What model Mac, with which version of Mac OS X?

Sorry for the caps for me doesnt mean to be shouting.
Version of FCP is 6.0.4
The source of the footage is an SD Card on the Samsung camera Full HD I use to record the clips.
I have a Mac Book the version of Mac OS is 10.5.7
Connect the camera and start FCP.
Use Log & transfer from FCP's File menu to bring in your clips and transcode them to ProRes (if your MacBook supports it), otherwise use Apple Intermediate codec.
i already did that procedure and it doesnt work. The FCP tells me that the images I have are not the same type as the directory. I do not understand at all why is doing that.
