8.0.3 initial dissatisfaction

Hello there,

I've just started editing something on a MacBook I bought a few months ago on iMovie 8.0.3.

I've done loads previously on far older versions of the program - am I missing something here (I confess I have had a few drinks!) but is it a much more clumsy process? Previously (I may be going back a few editions here) there was the big clear timeline, visually expandable; the scrubber for really precise editing below the clip window... have I missed something or is this all a lot less clear now?

Or am I being a bit of an old man and just not adjusting to it. Seems to me it's far less intuitive, and in it's desperation to mimic Final Cut Pro by having several projects available just dedicated loads more of the screen to lines and lines of clips.

Bring back the big clear timeline at the bottom, with all its 'extract audio' potential.

All thoughts greatly appreciated. Including how I might get an older version downloaded.

Thanks

Dan

iMovie 6 should never be compared to iMovie 9 (8.0.4).
They are two totally different tools.
iMovie 6 was a free download for anyone who has iM8 last time I checked.
I use both and depending on the type of movie I plan to develop I choose the proper tool.
iM9 is great for a quick short movie and iM6 is best for long precise type movies.
Like has been said, give yourself a little time for the learning curve on iM9 and you may love it like the rest of us.
