Can't Print from multiple machines running 10.4.11

We are having a problem in my office - cannot print - "jobs stopped" - G5 iMac and G4 Tower with 10.4.11. Both printers are on the network and show up, but when you print the cue goes to jobs stopped. Just tried it with my intel laptop running 10.5.8 and it works fine. Help!

Still does not work. Tried both options. I was able to print one page after powering off printer and then restarting. Error in printer window is something like

"the process mdns stopped unexpectedly with status 1"

We have been using this printer on our network for a couple of years now without a problem.

In the printer menu I selected Network Diagnostics and got the following message:

Network Diagnostics was able to connect to the Internet, but not to the server "Brother HL-5250DN series. pdl-datastream.tcp.local.". This could be caused by problems with server, or an Internet problem between this computer and the server.

Ideas?

Hmmm, that's a Bonjour error.

Can you set the Printers up with Static IPs and use TCP/IP printing?

Or have you tried removing the Printer in Printer Setup Utility & adding it again?

Don't know how to set static IP on printers.

Have removed printers and reconfigured many times. No luck.

Thanks for the thoughts.

When I connect my MacBook it prints just fine, but it is running 10.5 and intel.

Oh wait, this wasn't there when I started researching for my last post!

This seems a good clue.

Why is it trying to print through the Internet? Aren't these printers local?

Try adding these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers, for the Interface you connect with...

127.0.0.1

127.0.0.255

In Sysstem Profiler>Hardware>Printers, does "mdns://Brother HL-5250DN series. pdl-datastream.tcp.local." show on both as the location?

Do the first 3 numbers of the IP on the Tiger & Leo Macs agree?

Is the Server IP the same on all of them?
