My iPod Touch won't turn on.. PLEASE HELP!

My iPod Touch won't turn on even when it's connected to the computer.
I tried holding down the HOLD and the HOME button together for 10 seconds and it still won't work. I don't know how it got like this because usually when the battery is really dead, I usually just connect it and it will automatically charge. But now it won't.

I can't send it to Apple because I cracked the screen 3 months ago. And they will think that that's the reason why. It was still doing fine. Until yesterday morning when it won't turn on at all.

Anyone have any ideas? PLEASE PLEASE let me know.

Phone apple, or bring it to a retail store near you. You might not believe me but draining the ipod touch battery all the way to zero is not good for the battery. I guess u did it too much and it completely died.

not quite sure where you read that. while it is no longer necessary to leave ipod batteries to run down completely before you charge them up (and that they actually benefit from charging regularly) there is nothing to suggest that letting it drain completely is a bad thing. in fact some people would recommend it as a good thing to do every so often.

but yes, i think you should take it to apple.

I agree with you that some people think its bad and some people think its good, but in my personal experience when i let my battery drain to 0% once, the performance and battery life was really poor.

That is what is happening to my ipod touch. It was working fine, had plenty of battery charge, but when I went to use it again, I could not get the screen to come on. A couple of times, after pressing the button a lot, the screen came back on and I was able to play it no problem. But then, once I shut it off, I can't get it back on again. When I plug into itunes, it recognizes my ipod, updates it, and everything is still there. I just can't get the screen to come up. I am thinking of taking it to the genius bar. Don't know what else to do.
