I seem to be getting an error message when trying to listen to on-line radio stations? when I hit the "LISTEN" button, a new window appears with this error message. Can anybody help please?

Oh yes: I can see how that would help. Here is the extra info:

I am using Firefox on a Mac G5 733 dual core, running OSX 10.4.11. I am trying to access a station called Classic FM, but it happens the same with XFM, Chill FM, etc. However, the problem isn't manifested on the BBC stations - which seem use their own proprietary Player Software.

Thanks, Carey Marks

Thanks Limnos for your advice, but it didn't work.
On closer attempts it seems to be a problem system-wide with many browsers. I've tried Safari, Firefox and now I've just downloaded Opera. I get the same error message from all three:

MediaManagerPlayer error '800a005b'
Object variable or With block variable not set
/Player/Common/Includes/functions.asp, line 4

I have ensured that Javascript is enable on every browser, and I've run a "software update" to be 100% I have the latest Java installed.

Classic FM uses FlashPlayer:

http://www.classicfm.co.uk/on-air/ways-of-listening/how-listen-classic-fm-online -radio/

(scroll down for info on listening with a Mac).

You do of course have to sign up with them.

The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash

(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

You should also ensure that you have downloaded and installed the correct version for your Mac of Security Update 2009-001 (and for Tiger only, 2009-002 and 003). (N.B. Security Updates require both a restart and a permission repair.)
