inverting sustain pedal within logic

iv got a question about inverted or reversing the function of the sustain pedal.
at the moment logic (and the keyboard) holds down the notes i play without me pressing the pedal, then when i press the pedal it stops.

iv read in some places, soldering would work, however there does not appear to be a way of pulling apart the pedal without it breaking it. also, iv tried buying a new pedal, but it was the wrong polarity to the keyboard, and there is no way of changing it.

so as the title suggests.... is there a way, to change what the sustain pedal does, within logic?
any help would be greatly appreciated..

Emac, Mac OS X (10.4.11), Logic 7.2

Are you sure you cannot set that in the keyboard? What brand/type?
I have a very simple 4 octave CME keyboard, but it has settings to revert the polarity on both its pedal inputs.
If your keyboard can't do it, do this:
Go to the environment, ⌘-8.
Using the Local New menu, create a transformer object. Cable as in the pic, then doubleclick the transformer to get its settings, set it as shown.

thanks alot mate. your instructions did the trick = )

and its an absolutely ancient casio CTK 750, if that means anything to you.
i fiddled with it quite alot to get the other pedal to work, and it just wouldn't happen. i even took the instruction manual in to where i got the pedal from and asked them how i could reverse the polarity on the keyboard, but they said it couldn't be done..

but yes, thank you once again.

You're welcome!

My very first own "Elektronik" instrument was a Casio... in 1979... no MIDI, small keys, no velocity... it was the "big" brother of the VL-tone. But you could fiddle it by attaching some switches to various contact points on its circuitboard... 🙂

I have a CME VX80 and using it with Logic 9.01. I'm getting the same sustain all the time once I press the pedal. If I changed the polarity then the sustain stops when I press the pedal. It used to work in Logic 8.02.

This seems to happens with all Logic's virtual Instruments. If I use Ivory Piano the sustain works correctly. If I use Korg's M1/T1 virtual intruments, the pedal does nothing.

Any suggestions as to why this is happening?
