Pointer disappears on a black background

Is there a way to change the color of, or outline, the pointer when working in an app's panel that, unfortunately, has a black background? Changing the size doesn't help.

The pointer should be black with a white outline.

I agree. But, try editing subtitles in Subs Factory and, then, tell me it doesn't disappear.
