Can't add m4v file to iTunes

My iTunes won't let me add a .m4v movie file. I've tried "add to library" and drag and drop. My iTunes (the most recent update) doesn't have an "import" option. Any suggestions on what could be the problem and how to fix it?

Alissa, I did some investigating in other forums, and corrected the problem on my computer by repairing my permissions using Disk Utility. Open Disk Utility in the Utilities folder of Applications, click on your hard drive on the left side, then click on the First Aid tab on the top, the press the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom. It takes a while, but it worked for me. Good luck!
