Crashing When Attempting to Print - Workaround for some
I am running the latest Leopard and all of the Apple software as well. Tried to print from Pages and it shuts down. Saved the files as a PDF and opened in Preview, it shuts down. Adobe Acrobat shuts down. Any application that can open a PDF will crash on this Pages document. Opened in Graphic Converter and it prints fine. I don't work nor do I have any interest in Graphic Converter. Just letting people know that at least for me. GC was able to print a document that I spent a lot of time on and was due to my customer today and that NO OTHER program could print it. After seeing so many people with printing problems, I hope that a real solution will be found and not this work around.
Macs of every type and configuration,
Mac OS X (10.5.6)
Were you using a specific font in the document that causes the problems? Can you save as a PostScript file and open in preview?
There must be crash reports located in your home folder at ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter or in /Library/Logs/Crashreporter. If so, what do those reports look like?
It opens in every program just fine. Its the printing that it chokes on except for GC. I wonder what that program does differently that the others can't handle. I was able to print it, so I'll just play with the file and see what turns up.
It opens fine in every program and every format. It crashes on print as a native Pages file, a PDF, a JPG, a TIFF, etc...no matter how I convert it or what program I use to convert it. It crashes when I remove each font in turn, each graphic, each element and try to print... Oh well, I'm calling this one closed...
I am having the same issue... I am unable to print from any application at all.
Photshop CS4, Numbers, Preview, etc... they all crash when going to print.
I have deleted the printers and added the printer again to no avail.
Help!
Still having same issue... Crashing when trying to print from any application.
I did get a message now though...
"The Application Numbers quit unexpectedly.
The problem may have been caused by the NSPrintSetting Plug-in"
I Googled this "NSPrintSetting Plug-in", but didnt find much. It may be related to Epson however.
Im afraid I am going to have to do a clean install. ;-{
I was able to find the source of my Printing problem...
I removed all the drivers for all my Printers in HD/Library/Printers
including the installed printers.plist file...
I then Re-started my computer and re-installed my 2 Printers, Epson Workforce 600, Epson 4000.
Now back to printing! yeah! I was worried I was going to have to do a clean install.
