How do I stop Mail from accessing defunct anchors????

In trying to resolve problems with incredible computer slowdowns (and finding help in these discussions), I checked the console logs and found all kinds of stuff I don't understand. This one item I do understand but don't know what to do about it.

This phrase occurs over and over: /Applications/Mail.app/Contents/MacOS/Mail[354] Warning: accessing obsolete X509Anchors.

What should I do?

i-book G4, 1.33 GHz PowerPC, Mac OS X (10.5.8), 1.25 GB memory

Greetings,

X509 Anchors are security certificates that have probably expired, but Mail will still access them because they are stored on your Mac. You can delete them, but unless you know the consequences of doing that or have a replacement, it's better to leave them alone.

What is the specific problem you're having with Mail? If it's crashing, post the crash report so we can try to determine the cause.
