Ok. I bought a E-MU midi 1x1 USB interface. I followed the instructions and set it up like they said. Seemed strange to me when they said I should plug the midi "In" connector to my drum machines midi out and vica-versa. The interface lights up.
I plugged the USB into the iMAc usb port.
When I look in the Audio/midi set up the E-MU 1x1 shows up as an added midi device.
The first time I pressed the pads I heard a "beep" (the same one) for every pad.
Now that's not there any more either.
In GB itself I opened a new "basic track" and was hoping to see and hear my zoom.
Does that help? I really appreciate your help - as you can tell I am a beginner with this stuff, although I have been a musician for 40 years. The technical side has left me behind. . . .

I got it. Awesome!
Now I have the contents of the loop on my drum machine and can record it as midi. That's just great. Thanx to you guys. It would have taken me on my own until forever to figure it out by myself. I will send folks to your pages if they want some gear.

ps. one more question if I may - sure you've heard this one before .
can I change apple audio (blue) loops into midi loops?
