Rented movies are too dark

As I'm typing this I'm watching Gran Turino on my TV from my iPod classic. But the movie picture is too dark. I can't see any of the faces of the actors. I turned my TV brightness all the way up and it doesn't help. Is there a setting on my iPod to fix this? I've had this same problem on others movies in the past. I just can't seem to brighten them up. Thanks in advance!

There's actually a setting on the iPod for video brightness. As you are playing a video on the iPod, you can hit the center button twice and a brightness bar will appear. Perhaps setting this will change the output signal? Worth a try.

I've been trying the tip given by the above poster. I have looked through my whole iPod and I can not find what they are talking about. When I double click the center wheel it comes up with a progress bar for the movie and nothing to adjust the brightness.

Any other ideas?
