3G randomly not receiving texts or calls

Hi all,
After the 3.0 update, my phone randomly sends calls straight to voicemail, and texts are not received either. This happens sporadically, and only resolves after a hard reboot. Once back up, I get the new voicemail notifications and text messages as normal.
Ive now restored the phone twice to try and resolve this, as i have missed a few important calls recently due to it happening.

Every time it happens, the phone is showing full O2-UK signal strength and 3G connected.
Anyone had a similar issue?

PC, Windows XP Pro, 3G v3.01

ok, I guess your hard reboot is a reset. Explain how you are doing that. Some people don't do it correctly and therefore it's not going to help.

to reset the phone press and hold the sleep button and home button at the same time until you see a silver apple. DO NOT SLIDE TO TURN OFF at the screen prompt, just keep holding those buttons until you see the apple.

When resetting the phone, I hold down the home and sleep buttons till the screen goes black and the silver apple logo reappears on the screen, then let go and let the phone boot up normally.

Ive also restored the phone twice through itunes from backup and its still happening

I would get another sim card from your cell carrier. If that doesn't fix it, see a genius at the apple store.

I've had this happen a lot (not with texts, just calls), despite restores and resets, new sim card, and even a new phone (due to other issues). Lots of dropped calls too. I figured it was just an AT&T thing, but am guessing since you are in the UK that is not the case, so am also looking for a solution.

Yeah, ever since the most recent update for the pic messaging, I have been having similar issues. The phone will not receive calls, or texts and i cant call or send a text. Once I reset the phone it will work fine, until later that day. I dunno...gonna have to take it to the Apple store I guess...
