I have a mobileme account connection doctor gives me the green. I can't send any mail from the Mail App. It shows 1 in outbox as soon as I click outbox it vanishes. No sent mail or any received in Inbox. Works fine with my Iphone and the web. It was working fine prior to upgrading.
Anyone else having issues with Mail on Snow Leopard?
My mail is finally working after I removed all my POP folders from library/mail. Then I restarted my computer and opened mail and it started loading everything including my POP mails. Nothing was lost.
After installing Snow Leopard without incident, I ran Mail for the first time. It went through a lengthy process of updating the Mail database, which seemed to work successfully.
After that, though, every time I started Mail, it would begin to display my message folders and crash within a couple of seconds.
I found the suggestion in this forum to delete the RSS folder (I've never used Mail for RSS, it only had the default "Apple Hot News" item provided by Apple) and now all works fine.
In fact, better than fine! Under Leopard, Mail always panted and wheezed while taking ages to open. Now it opens in the blink of an eye.
Thanks to robo1999 for the suggestion! and thanks to Apple for the new, sleeker Mail!
I can't seem to get anything working. Mail was working fine until I re-started my computer. Since then it won't launch and gives me an error. I have tried deleting the RSS feed, replacing the mail folder and nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yes, I'm having trouble. I use mail though a VPN at my work. The VPN is working fine, and the connection doctor gives the green lights, but the mail will not send. In the past, I found that if that condition existed, if I quit the Mail program and get back in, it would send. Not even that works now.
I have a HS Internet account with Cox Communications, and I link to the cable modem via AirPort Extreme (latest). After installing Snow Leopard on the MacBook I have found that the SMPT server smtp.east.cox.net will NOT accept any outgoing email, although incoming email arrives, and Mail.app seems to work as before--no crashes yet. My iMac G5 PPC 1.8 GHz running OS X 10.5.8, on the same localnet using the same AirPort Extreme and modem, has no trouble sending or receiving mail.
I'm also having trouble accessing my printer via the local net through the iMac G5 and a USB cable, although the MacBook had no problem finding the printer when it was running 10.5.8.
nothing is working. mail open and gets new messages, but when clicking on a message the spinning ball appears, then the whole program quits. everytime. no matter which message is clicked.
i have tried all the fixes. deleted RSS folder, deleted groups in address book, rebuilt the inbox folder, moved the ~/library/mail folder, moved it back. everything suggested so far. still nothing.
Here the outbox exists, but on Send I get the message "Cannot send message using the server smtp.east.cox.net" --sender address rejected by server. This never happened on the MacBook before the installation of Snow Leopard, and it is not happening on the G5.
