DVD Drive Not Working

Could be bad news, such as your drive has died. But here's what I'd recommend trying -- use one of those cans of compressed air dusters for computer cleaning...and gently insert the nozzle inside the drive outer gasket and give it a quick blast at each corner and once from the middle. I've had the same problem on my daughter's and after a few quick blasts whatever dust might be there inhibiting the disk reading clears away and all is well.

I have a similar problem. My drive reads this really old scratched DVD-R that I found under my desk, but it WON'T read a Leopard install disk. It also won't read any of my purchased DVD movies.

Same problem.
Tried the compressed air.
No help.
