An unknown error (1304) occurred during sync

When i sync my iPod touch with my mac, iTunes said there is an unknown error 1304. What is that? I tried to restore my iPod Touch, but problem still exists.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

I get this same problem with my laptop on Windows Vista.. it seems to be since I upgraded to 3.0 that it doesn't work. I plug it in to sync and it starts charging and gets recognised, but then my itunes freezes and crashes, and I get a message saying "Itunes is not responding" and I need to close it. I tried to synch my old nano using the same cable I was using for my touch and it synced straight away - so there is obviously a problem with the ipod itself.
