Panasonic AG-DVC7 with FCE 2.0.3

I'm running Final Cut Express 2.0.3 on OS X 10.3.9, trying to capture with a Panasonic AG-DVC7 and having no luck. My Canon GL2 captures fine, so I know it's not a hardware problem with my Mac, has anyone had any luck with the right FCE and on-camera settings to get the AG-DVC7 to capture correctly? For the heck of it I tried iMovie too and didn't get anything there, either. Again, it's on the same FireWIre port and with the same cable that I've captured footage from my Canon GL2 a hundred times before. Any ideas are appreciated.
