Dragging images from Safari to Photoshop Icon on Dock

For YEARS I've been able to drag any image (JPG, PNG, GIF) directly from a web page on Safari to the Photoshop icon on the Dock. As someone who works as a graphic designer/web designer, this is crucial.

As of Snow Leopard (whether upgraded or a clean-install), I am no longer able to drag anything from Safari onto the Photoshop icon on the Dock. This renders Snow Leopard useless to me since I use that capability *all the time*.

Is there something I need to change in order to allow this to work? Or is this a limitation of Snow Leopard since Safari is now running in 64-bit and Photoshop in 32-bit?

Any help would be great since I can't upgrade to Snow Leopard until this is resolved.

Also having this problem. One thing I noticed when e-mailing to a Photoshop developer about this is that Photoshop is not the only app doing this. Other CS4 apps, Word and Adium are also susceptible to this problem, which suggests to me that there might be general problems with the drag and drop functionality.

Photoshop CS4 is having some issues with Spaces – it appears to be ignoring preferences altogether.

Before 10.6 I wasn't able to Drag & Drop some images from the browser to CS4 programms as well...but back then I at least could drop them on bridge and then do whatever I wanted to with them from there on.

Since I upgraded, the only apps supporting D&D from the browser are:
-Firefox
-Safari
-Opera
-Preview
and Cyberduck (not quite sure...it takes over the url of the image...)

Now, if preview can accept the D&D other apps should also be able to.

I guess apple played around with the event handler of the dock icons while "improving the drag and drop behaviour" and messed up the event handler for images from external sources.

Since this problem seems to occur app specific, I guess the app developers thmeselves can also solve this problem...but I'd prefer apple solving it themselves as I don't want to update each and every program...

so much for the convient upgrading process... -.-
pity

I just noticed something, which is also new to me and which may be related to the dock problem, you also can't drag and drop anything from the browser to exposé, than choose the target window and drop the image there. I thought I'd be able to work around the drag and drop problem with the dock that way...but unfortunately there's the same problem here...

What you CAN do, and what I'm gona do till this problem is resolved, you can drag and drop the image onto preview, from there you pick the thumb out of the preview siedebar and drag&drop it wherever you want to.

Pretty much like the bridge method I used to work around inconvience with :P
