Q: Menu Bar Disappeared

Just installed Snow Leopard, and the menu bar at the top right of the screen has disappeared. Spotlight, wireless, sound, power, date, they are all gone. Before the update I was running Leopard with XMenu, which seems to be incompatible with SL. I uninstalled XMenu, restarted and the menu is still missing.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.4.7), 2.0 White 2GB 160Gb

I didn't tell you to trash that folder, just drag it to the desktop. You could have dragged a few preferences files back at a time until you found the bad one. It's almost like troubleshooting an extensions conflict in OS 9.

The folder might still be in the trash if you didn't empty the trash.

Had the same issue, deleting the preferences fixed it for me as well. Thanks a bunch!
