Yahoo mail will not, "Load More Messages" on iPhone 3gs

Well, the support call got me nowhere. They pointed to Yahoo to solve the problem. Over the weekend, I updated to v3.1.2 AND updated my carrier info, and it now works. So, it appears that there was something wrong on the OS/carrier side, a silent patch as it were.

So, update your iPhone OS to 3.1.2 and your carrier info.

I too have the same problem with an iPhone 3G. I'm not sure exactly when the problem started, but I know it was after upgrading to OS 3.x. I am completely up-to-date with the iPhone OS (3.1.2) and have upgraded carrier settings, but still no success. I have also tried restoring my iPhone and still no success. My Yahoo email account will not "load more messages" no matter what I have done.

BTW, no problems with Gmail or ATT webmail (formerly Bellsouth), only with Yahoo.

Any ideas?

Ditto - I still have the problem. 3.1.2, updated carrier settings, will not load more messages. 😟 Not sure where to go from here, maybe delete email & re-add the Yahoo account, but I'm not hopeful.

UPDATE: I had good reason not to be hopeful - it still doesn't work, even after completely deleting & re-adding my Yahoo account. I did it across WiFi for speed, and all the mailboxes loaded correctly, but when I tried to *Load More Messages*, it didn't load any more. I hit that multiple times to no avail.

It suddenly works for me! I did absolutely nothing on my end to change this. I checked today (after checking a couple of days ago) and this time I was able to load new messages. I hope the rest of you get this problem cleared up, too, very soon.

Hey! Look at that! Load More Messages is now working for me as well. Yea!

Any luck sending a vCard? Server still trashes vCards for me.

Me too. Yesterday I tried "loading more messages" and for the first time in months it worked. I did absolutely nothing different than before. It seems the problem is being fixed from the "other end" (Yahoo? AT&T?). I'd recommend another check to see if it started working.

Still no joy for me. Does NOT work - just tried it. The indicator spins, takes me to the top, doesn't load a single new message, _much less_ my next 50! 😟

I believe I'm having having the same issue where your Yahoo account will not load any new messages, correct? If you delete and and recreated the yahoo account it will load the old messages you had but no new ones. For example, mine will load the previous 30 messages and the indicator lists that it's downloading the additional messages but they never load. I just want to make sure I'm not the only one with the same problem. Apoogies for the long email but I'm pretty frustrated.

Yep, that's the problem alright! All you can see on your iPhone are your most recent 50 messages (or whatever your default # is set to); no more will load.

So are we s.o.l. until yahoo or apple decides to fix the issue (whoever has to fix it)?

You betcha we are! Unfortunately, neither company has stepped up to own the problem and fix it.

So I tried it again today and yahoo mail seems to work on my phone today. I have no clue what happened but I'll take it. Hopefully it lasts 🙂

I didn't do anything - no software / hardware updates recently.

Well, the excitement only lasted a couple hours. I was checking up on my emails and it's back to where it was before. Even though I read and deleted several new emails it reverted back to the same crap as before, only having emails from 10/27 and earlier. Yahoo and/or Apple suck (whoever is responsible), this isn't some obscure email service or mobile phone company these are two largest in their industries.
