Hosted Exchange not working with Snow Leopard

I have a hosted exchange account with Hostway. Installed Snow Leopard in hopes I would be able to take advantage of "Full Exchange Support." However, I guess that only applies to local Exchange servers because I can only access Hostway's hosted Exchange with imap and even then I can only receive and not send. I have tried several configurations and nothing seems to work. ical nor address book work either. Anyone have any ideas?

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.6)

I have used a few different hosted Exchange 2007 accounts with SnowLeopard, so it is known to work. What happens when you try to set up your hosted Exchange account in Mail?

I'm on a hosted EXCH system now.
You should contact them to see if it meets requirements and that it's setup to utilize this.

They have to be using Exchange 2007.

They advertise that they are Exch2007. Would be great if someone would post their config so I can emulate.

Current settings are:
Incoming...
imap.exchangecentral.net (Apple Mail won't even talk to the server unless I choose imap)
Username is full email address
SSL port 993
Outgoing...
smtp.exchangecentral.net
username is full email address.
No SSL

I have contact Hostway and they in their great multitude of wisdom sent me instructions on connecting to their pop email server. I would appreciate it if someone would send their configuration suggestions. Again, I am able to receive but not send.

Finally got someone who knew what they were talking about on the Hostway support staff and found out I was actually on a Exch2003 server. Not 2007 as previously informed. So, once they migrated me over, Apple mail, calendar and contacts connected perfectly. Woohoo!

I have the same problem with Nasstar, I've rang their tech support and they inform me they are running Exchange 2003, but plan to upgrade to Exchange 2010 (I assume next year!).

So sounds like I will never have it working as I bet 2007 will not work with 2010, unless their is away Mail 4.0 can be backwardly compatible with 2003.

Very annoying as I've been longing for OS 10.6 to come out so I can share calendars etc with my PC colleagues.

Same thing for 123together.com. (They have rubbish Mac support, btw.)

I can access them through the web just fine, but Mail keeps asking for Exchange creds... the same ones that work via the web. Turns out that I also had to edit my Hosts file, to no avail. Not cool.

Why does OS X Mail have options for Internal and External Servers and Paths, where Entourage and Outlook don't? They just have "Domain," et al. That makes it a bit confusing/lame when dealing with the IT fellas.

I work for a hosted exchange provider. Snow Leopard works fine. You do not need our pop or imap settings

I would say make sure you have your autodiscover record in your DNS.

Hosted Exchange from Sherweb works just fine with Snow Leopard....not that that helps you at all, just throwing it out there.

I use AppRiver hosted Exchange and tried setting it up in SL tonight with no luck. Can you tell me what the proper settings are? Thanks.

@Templeton

I am operating with Sherweb - having problems with iCal where it won't sync correctly with the server.

Specifically

1. I am getting multiple copies of some all day appointments

2. When I add a meeting with multiple invites, iCal errors and says my account cannot be modified. Only resolves when I manually invite the attendees through webmail

Did you experience any of this?

I work for a company that uses Appriver fo Exchange hosting. I recently updated to Snow Leopard and when I put in my email address and password it does not automatically login into Exchange, as promised. May I ask what I am doing wrong?

Email I got back from them re iphone and 10.6 Mail support -

I can confirm that we fully support the use of iPhones with Exchange which would allow your customer to sync the device with the mailbox. The only thing that isn't supported are tasks since the device doesn't have a task manager.

I can also confirm that we fully support the latest operating system 10.6 (Snow leopard) and you would only need to change the MX records of your client's domain to use Exchange with us in a Mac environment.
