Poor performance on Snow Leopard

So I just installed Snow Leopard on my Mac Mini which I use as a media center in my living room. So obviously I use Front Row extensively. Imagine my dismay to find out that front row is now jerky, sometimes won't respond, and in general *****. Videos play back jerky, and steppy as well while the same videos play find through Quicktime X or Quicktime 7, and iTunes full screen. What gives? Anybody else experiencing this? Any solutions?

I just got the same problem with Front Row on my MacBook 4,1 (Early 2008) with 10.6.1, QuickTime X and QuickTime 7. There are several interface problem e.g. freezing when scrolling fast in the movie trailers list. As well it still does not allow me to browse my music as in iTunes with Album Artists, instead there's a list as like as 5 times the same artist.

I'm afraid to tell you that FrontRow still shows artifacts when scrolling through lists quickly by clicking and holding the down button.
Also Artists are not sort by Album Artists as in iTunes which makes it really hard to find all the songs by an album of an artist, cause there's a list as like as 30 times Alicia Keys &...

I have this problem too.
As a Mini user, I like lying back on my bed with the remote and watching some DVDs but the playback on Snow Leopard is not pleasant at all. All fine with DVD player and VLC Media Player on full screen but Front Row is definitely a no go. At first I thought it was the DVD with problems but everything else plays fine.
You are not the only one with this problem and I have yet to find no solutions.
Please get this fixed Apple!

PS: It WAS smooth on Leopard, it's not like I haven't used Front Row to play DVDs before.

All of my TV shows and movies are either bought from the iTunes store (protected mp4), or my own content ripped with Hand Brake (also mp4), and this has very poor playback performance, stuttery and jerky. I have not tried a DVD yet. This same content will play back fine in full screen from iTunes, or opening with Quicktime. It's definitely a problem with Front Row only.

Same here on our Mini as well. Installed Snow Leopard on our MacBookPro, and tested front row with various .avi's and .mov's, (everything looked fine, never once thought to test dvd playback, was more suspicious of the various files Perian would assist with) Once I confirmed those played, I prepared and then started the update on the mini in our living room this afternoon.

Ran across this thread and others while it was installing, when browsing the web in anticipation of the new install. Expected to just see folks posting about small improvements in feel and response. We use the mini has the home theater, and really love it. Needless to say, Front Row was the appeal. Really hope Apple can address this issue, rolling back to 10.5 would not be fun.

How do you submit a bug report? I am more than willing to add my report to the pile if you can point the way.

Thanks,
