Safari in Snow Leopard and search provider

Greetings,

There's never been an option in Safari for the user too choose a search provider; all searches are Google searches.

What version of Safari are you running, and what version of Mac OS X? Snow leopard just came out on Friday (yesterday in the U.S.), so it seems unlikely you'd have it yet.

If you create a new user account and test Safari there, does it present that option?

That image you posted is from the Windows version of Safari (note the close window button in the top right of the window).

The Windows version does allow you to toggle between Google and Yahoo. For whatever reason, Apple only offers Google on OS X.

Many third party developers offer tools that can change the default. Have a search on versiontracker.com / macupdate.com - just be aware that they may not be Snow Leopard compatible yet.

I have mac OS 10.6 Safari won't work. It says I need os 10.8 where do I get that?
