I am trying to get iTunes to stream a local radio station from the internet. I copied the link that shows up on the website that gets it to play through Safari, and copy it in the "Open Audio Stream" box in "Advanced" menu item in iTunes, and it shows the last part of the url in the "playing now" at the top of the itunes stream, but nothing happens. Anything else I should be trying?
AMD Athlon, MacBook and iMac,
Mac OS X (10.5.2),
Mac Pro is next!
Has anyone been able to stream internet through iTunes using the "Open Audio Stream" option? I can't seem to get anything to play that way.
I did notice that the radio stations all launch a player when I click on the "listen" button on their website - some use Adobe Flash Player, some are playing .wmv via the Flip4mac plug-in I previously installed. Does this have anything to do with it??
Pretty sure you solved this one by now but anyway...
I assume you refer to url's compatible to iTunes
if so then you need to do the following once you are in iTunes
go to: Advance
then : open audio stream
and : enter or copy-paste URL
after buffering it should start playing.
Note that there are some compatibility issues.
No further info available on this at this point I just started looking how to solve this myself.

forgot to mention that iTunes won't play Windows Media streams you can do that in QuickTime Player. You need to have the Flip4Mac codecs installed.
