BBC Iplayer not working on Snow Leopard

I can't get BBC iplayer working since I upgraded to Snow Leopard. When I go onto the iplayer webpage and load the content that I want to listen to, there is nothing in the box where I used to hit play. It just stays black. I'm not sure if there is something in the settings that I can adjust and I can't see any other problems like this. Any ideas?

I can play anything directly from the web site, but downloading dosnt work anymore... I have dumped iplayer and reinstalled from web site (which automatically comes up when you try and download something and you dont have iplayer) I have installed adobe air from adobes web site, I have moved the player app to my root applications directory, and the best I now get is iplayer will launch but will not show any useful info, no list of downloads, no options to load/set preferences, just the option to quit.....

Further info on this problem now. I seem to be able watch stuff on iplayer with no problems. When I try to search for Radio, this is when the problem arises. I can listen to the major BBC stations but when I search for a regional BBC station (e.g. BBC Essex, BBC Norfolk, BBC London, etc) and then click the "listen now" button, it goes to the usual iplayer window but none of the controls appear so I'm unable to listen. I've tried to re-install iplayer but this doesn't appear to work.

Updated my Mini to 10.6 - iPlayer wouldn't work in Safari - Lsnitch came up with "WebKitPluginHost wants to connnect to" xyxyxy.. etc a few times, allowed, but nothing except a small blue Lego block.. Downloaded latest version of Firefox, installed it, and iPlayer works fine. Quit Firefox, back to Safari, iPlayer now works in Safari too.

I've tried wiping real player from my system. Then I restarted my mac and loaded up safari again. Went to the BBC page again and tried the listen now feature for BBC Radio Merseyside. I got the message "To listen to this please install realplayer". So, I followed the links and reinstalled it. Shut down my mac and tried again with the listen now. Back to square one. Nothing appears where you would usually see the controls.

Hmm?

It's a shame that real player are not doing something more to help this issue. Looking at the realplayer threads it seems that they are content as they are. For them to be involved in something as mainstream as iplayer and take that kind of line, it's not very good really. Running safari in 32 bit mode is not a particularly good solution but one that works for now. Hopefully they will fix this soon.

I did this and it seems to have worked!

I did a reformatting of the disk, and installed Snow Leopard as a clean install, and restored my Accounts, Settings and Applications from my "Carbon Copy Cloner" (CCC) backup using "Migration Assistant".

Everything, including Real Player and BBC iPlayer (including both downloading and playing), worked fine without having to set Safari to 32-bit mode!

I have had this same issue for a while with iPlayer. On 10.5 and 10.6. At first I thought it was to do with leaving it on a second display when I closed the display (it used to disappear before when I did that.)

I thought the new gathering of windows may fix it in 10.6 so I could at least see it, but it seems it isnt loading like other people have said in either 32 bit or 64 bit modes.

It works in the safari browser and even after a reinstall of iPlayer it still doesnt work. Does anyone know if there are any component files that would need to be deleted too, as I think this may be the answer.

Thanks
