The iPhone can't be broken can it?

Hi Jason thanks much for your help----I did all the trouble shooting and none of those solutions worked. Therefore I believe I must reset the settings back to default. I am hesitant as I saw a youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXdr8fJAc3g and I really didn't understand what happened that simm card warning in the end looks very scary and I am afraid if that happened to me I wouldn't know what to do. I did not back up that data on my phone I didn't have a lot of it so I am not concerned about erasing everything but I am concerned about loosing a voice memo--I was able to email myself 7min47sec but the memo is over 12 minutes---Is there a way to save the entire memo? ---
thanks again for your help most obliged

Hey,

The iPhone User Guide describes the Erase All Settings command.
"Erase all content and settings: Connect iPhone to your computer or a power adapter. Choose General > Reset and tap “Erase All Content and Settings.”
This feature resets all settings to their defaults and removes all your information and media on your iPhone by overwriting the data stored on iPhone."

Do you see the same issue on another computer?
If you haven't already try restarting the computer and iPhone. You can restart the iPhone by holding the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears> then slide to turn off> and turn the iPhone back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake again, as described on page 46 of the iPhone User Guide.
