Backing up a PC Using Time Capsule

I backed up my pc to my time capsule. it took the better part of 2 days. I just went to make the time capsule accessible over the internet and I dont even see my pc back up. all i see is the one for my macbook pro.

im confused as to exactly what the time capsule is. i thought it was going to act like an external hard drive as well as a backup machine. how do i store movies and music on it and remote access it? it there a video tutorial about any of this?

I have to admit this is a bit confusing.

thanks all.

The Time Capsule was primarily designed to be a combination Internet router and the destination for Time Machine backups. However, it can also perform as a NAS device for both Macs and PCs. In order for PCs to back up to it the backup software would have to support network drives as destinations. For example, I use Genie Backup to do this to an AirPort Disk (an external hard drive attached to my AirPort Extreme Base Station) as I don't currently have a TC available ... but the concept is the same.

Saifu, this took me a little while to figure out myself. When the TC is recognized you should see it in "my computer" Clikcing on my computer, the drive should open up into windows explorer. I can then drag and drop files onto and off of the drive. Hope this helps, ask questions if I confused you in any way. Windows works well with this. I thought the same thing. Thinking I needed some other software to be able to use it as file storage. Ive been able to upload a few full DVDs I encoded. It works flawlessly

I installed the software that came with the tc.

I backed up both the pc hard drives i checked the status bar for two days while it backed up like 400 gb.

now i cant find the backup on the apple time capsule.

also when i open the tc software on my pc it says that there is a new version should i close to update and i say yes. it closes but doesnt update.

I would hate to spend ridiculous amount of time backing it up manually.

seriously. i spend 500 on a tc and its this difficult to back up my pc and access information.
