iCal Icon in Dock shows wrong date with Snow Leopard

Has anyone noticed the iCal icon still shows Aug 28 today (the 29th) in the dock? It will update itself when iCal is running to the correct date but once closed, it reverts back to the 28th. This occurred after the upgrade to Snow Leopard.

Mac OS X (10.6)

I have tried that and no change. Ical still shows 17th July when closed. I have also tried deleting the plists for ical in my user library and allowing them to be rebuilt the next time ical starts...but still no joy. I have copied these plists from another Mac in the home that has the changing date in Snow Leopard but still no joy - permissions repaired too...

All suggestions welcomed 🙂

Hi, I had the same problem [closed iCal date stuck at 17 July] and tried the answers above, which didn't help at all. This answer found at http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=395610 did the trick.

First, All applications (except Finder) must be closed.
On the Finder menu bar, click on "Go," then on "Home."
Go into the Library folder
Delete the Caches folder > *I only deleted the com.apple.iCal folder*
Go into the Library / Preferences folder
Delete the files: com.apple.iApps.plist; com.apple.iCal.helper.plist; and com.apple.iCal.plist
Restart system
