I'm not doing anything. It seems to happen each time the program tries to do an autosave. Like when I leave for a bit and then come back the message will be there.
I'm not sure of my current settings, where are those set?
I've also had the same problem. Essentially same settings as well. Autosaves are in the Final Cut documents folder. However, I cannot manual save either; I get the same error mesage. I can save a copy to my desktop and then replace the original with that...
Welcome to the family Jim,
I too have received the same error message when trying to manually save project. I have always worked around it by shutting down FCP and restarting. However, this is really a pain. I hope someone here can shead some light on this problem.
Same issue here with FC Pro HD 5.0.2 and OSX 10.4.2.
We get the error on 20 individual G5 towers while saving to an extremely fast (and not at capacity) XSan. Saving to local disk (SATA) seems to alleviate the problem. Writes from shell utilities show no evidence of disk contention or latency.
I have been experiencing the same problem with some computers in a HS TV Production class I teach. We have been using these computers (G4s) for a few years now, and have never had this problem until recently. Funny thing is, it has hit 3-4 of our computers all at once.
I have been able to quit FCP and select not to save the project (which stinks to have to do) so I can at least get out of FCP, but the issue doesn't go away when we reopen it.
