Any equivalent to "Hidden Text" in Pages?

OK. The best I can do is to use comments to insert my "hidden" text, and then toggle on and off the comments using the View menu. At least the comments won't print when hidden, and exporting to Word also works well.

I know this thread is long-closed, but found it looking for "hidden text in Pages." Here's my work around:

I made a style (let's name it Hidden) with font size and line spacing smallest possible (that's .2 point and .02 point), no extra leading, text color white.

I also made a style that shows the text normally. When I want to hide the text, I apply the style Hidden.

It takes up some space, but it is a very tiny amount.

Not quite the same thing. Hidden text in Word goes away as if it was not there; the text that follows it moves over into it's place. I'd actually never used that feature until just now. Making text transparent makes it invisible but it still takes up space.

Do you edit with Track Changes turned off? With Track Changes on, you can delete text and, if you want it back in later, reject the change. The deletion marks in the "view final" setting are a bit annoying, though.

100% Transparency will do the trick and you can change it by making it a style which when you want to see it you make opaque again.

If you could tell us why and how you use that feature in your editing, there may be another way to accomplish the task without hidden text.

Hidden text is also useful in scientific papers where provenance of findings (i.e. what result came from what file) is important. I am also looking for a way to do this... Any help?

Forgot to add - if anyone has any idea of a workaround, I would greatly appreciate it.
