Issue with Sprint Sierra Wireless AirCard 595U

Cannot get my Sierra Wireless AirCard 595U to work. Removed drivers, re-installed, but still cannot get it to work.

Has anyone out there with the same card able to get it to work after upgrading to Snow Leopard?

Frenchdude, I found a solution from another user on the Sprint site. Here is what to do:
1. Remove sprint connection manager using the uninstall program.
2. Delete all sprint software manually.
3. Reset your computer.
4. Plug the aircard in. You will see a popup about the connection not being setup. Click the network preferences button.
5. You'll need to put in the username and password for your aircard. Mine was populated automatically. I guess the card knows it 🙂
6. close network preferences.
7. You will see the new WWAN bars in the top menu bar. Ctrl-click them and select connect.
8. Voila! you are connected.

If you do not see the WWAN bars, go back to network preferences and ensure that the "show WWAN status in menu bar" option is checked.

Apparently the new WWAN functionality eliminates our need to even bother with the sprint software.

Happy mobile-surfing.

This is how I got mine to work, very simply.

I went into the Network preferences (with AirCard attached) clicked the + symbol and added a new port for the Sierra Card. Everything was automatically available in the drop down windows to add the card it creates a WWAN which you can add it's status to the top menu bar. I deleted the old Sprint Card port. I don't use the Sprint Manager. It works great for me under Snow Leopard.
