9400m Nvidia screen flicker after snow leopard install

Yep, I'm seeing a similar issue on my 2008 Mac Pro. Although I hadnt noticed it specifically after sleep mode. It seems to be only the active window for me.

Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing on mine. I've been trying to decide whether I should post a bug report. I did an upgrade from 10.5.8 instead of my usual archive and install so I wasn't sure if that had anything to do with it. How did others who are having this issue install? Anyone having the issue after a clean install?

I think I'm having this same problem. I installed Snow Leopard on my 1+ year old 24" iMac the day of it's release and since then I've had an intermittent screen flicker (black screen lasting about a half-second). It happens about once an hour, and it doesn't seem to matter what program I'm running at the time. I never had any screen flicker problems before installing OSX 10.6. Not a big deal I guess, but annoying all the same. I'm surprised Apple Support hasn't responded to this thread yet.

Same thing happening for me... It's starting to get a bit annoying. Just out of curiosity is anyone using 3rd party apps such as istat?

Same here. Late 2008 Macbook Pro, did an upgrade. Approximately every 10 minutes I am seeing the flicker, but mine seems to be much faster than half of a second, barely perceptible but definitely there. I am currently seeing this with the 9400m running, haven't tried with discrete.

Same problem here. I have a late 2008 MBP and the screen flicker is happening constantly. I haven't tried a fresh boot and/or switching to the 9600.

I have the same problem. Clean Snow Leopard install on unibody MacBook Pro.

I will try to switch to 9600M and see if that helps.

yes same problem here with 2009 unibody mac book pro..... the screen is flickering as i am typing this,,, if apple cant sort this soon im going back to leopard,, its way to annoying...

I posted to this string earlier that I had the same problem. I've tried a couple things that I thought I'd share. Maybe they'll work for some of you, maybe not.

1. I rebooted while keeping the 9400M the active display adapter, and it did stop the flickering, but only for a short while. It restarted within 45 minutes. I'd deem this solution as a temporary fix.
2. I rebooted into the 9600 (not re-logged in, actually rebooted) and the problem disappeared completely.
3. I returned to the 9400 by the "logging out-logging in" method and have been unable to reproduce the flickering.

Maybe there's something in this sequence that fixes the problem, or maybe my experience is totally coincidental, but it might be worth a try.

I have same problem since i installed Snow Leopard.But i reinitialised the SMC and since i haven't see the screen flicker.Try this...
