iPod touch overheating and going black

I've been using my ipod a lot lately, and while watching a video, I felt the ipod get really hot after about 10 minutes of use while it was also charging and I was watching the video. Then, it just went black and I can't turn it back on at all. Has anyone experienced this? Can it be reset somehow?

I have had the same problem lately. When it cools down then it will work its way back on. It happened to be while update to the new software. not sure why it happens or how to prevent it from happening.

I usually let it cool down then hold the down the top button and the front button down at the same time until it comes on. If that doesn't work then I hope your still under warrnaty, you can check here..

Its the U.S. site but probably same general area if your not in the U.S.

I called the support line and I am taking it in today to hopefully get replaced.

Is your touch in some kind of case? The metal plate on the back acts as a heat sink for the device and if it is covered/sealed in, it can't do it's job. If that is the case, take it out of the case and see if the problem repeats.
