Entourage: Spotlight / Search Not Working

I have just installed SL and since doing so, when I run a search in Entourage I get no results.
I have rebuilt the database but it had no effect.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

HI Trevor.

Try repairing disk permissions...

Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I think the issue was that the database hadn't completed indexing. I loaded SL yesterday and have been using Entourage since then, but with no search results appearing.
In the last 10 minutes or so, however, results have started appearing.
It certainly took a long time for the index to build...

One issue after upgrading to SL:

- entourage search and views did not worked

*solution: make sure that entourage is selected as default email-app (reselect it again) in mail.app and entourage.*

possible other solutions: fix permissions (disk utility), rebuild entourage spotlight database (preferences, spotlight)

Hello

For me the Problem ist still not solved. It was after I updated to 10.6.1

I tried the following
- rebuild my Entrourage database
- rebuild spotlight database in Entourage
- fix accessright within harddisk utility
- rebuild spotlight with TinkerTool System 2
- reset the default Mail app again to Entrourage

I still not been able to search eather in entourage as in spotlight. Spotlight search for items but finds very less items. Something is really wrong with this. Even a Program as "Easy Find" doesn't find items on my mac

Who knows a fix?

I too am having this problem. Spotlight won't work, neither will the search in Entourage. I have had apple support try all sorts of things. Including re-installing the OS - twice (do you know what a time killer that is???). I have tried all the solutions listed here too. The one that puzzles me most however is the one to run "sudo multi -E" since I can't seem to figure out how to do that and not get an error message. When I do that, after being prompted for my password, the message I get is "No index." Any suggestions?
