Preview app: Add text annotation with left justify?

I'm using the Preview app to insert text into some PDF files. I can use the Annotate feature to create a text box in the area I need it and adjust the font, color, size, etc. The only thing I can't seem to do is set the justification to Left Justify. It will show text as center justify - anyone know how to change this?

I am wondering about this too. I can't find text justification anywhere.

Thanks.

All,

Here's a solution using Pages instead of Preview:

- Start a new Pages document using page layout mode.
- Drag the PDF into Pages.
- Use the Text Box tool to annotate the PDF. You can now have left justified text.

I'm in full agreement that it's totally silly that Preview forces you to use center-justified text. Just plain silly, Apple!

Have you found a good workaround for multipage PDF? I had to drop a 12 page PDF in page by page (time consuming to resize each page) and my annotations from Preview were not carried over. But I was able to cobble together some decent annotations with this method.

Thanks

This is true. But considering the cost of Acrobat Pro compared to Preview this should be self-evident. Unfortunately it's not reasonable to say Preview is the price of the Mac, because you have to buy the Mac (or Windows.. whatever) to use Acrobat too.. No way I'm touching Acrobat with a 40-foot pole though. Half the reason preview is so great is that you don't rely on Adobe bloatware.

At any rate, +1 for Left Alignment request. It's pretty gobsmacking this isn't included.. Preview is awesome compared to any of the built in Windows junk but this oversight is ridiculous.
