iTunes DJ "broken"

I've had this issue spanning a few iTunes versions (minor updates). The upcoming songs list in DJ does not update no matter what I do. It just shows the full library (not limiting itself to whatever I set in the DJ settings) in album order. I cannot change the order manually nor use the source selection to change it. I've tried to delete the iTunes preferences in my user/library folder. Any other suggestions?
