This may sound like a silly question, but my wife has a blackberry and told me that whenever I send her a text with my iphone, it ends up in her "mailbox" so the text is treated like email
On the BlackBerry, the 'Messages' icon is a catch-all inbox. It collects messages from any messaging account linked to the device (email, text messages, mms, PIN messages, etc.)
If she wants to separate her text messages into a different location, that's actually quite simple to do.
On the device, change this setting:
*Messages > Options > General Options > SMS and Email Inboxes = Separate*
This will create a new icon on the device specifically for text messages.

There is no similar Blackberry Messenger app just for the iPhone.
