Syncing iCal with iPhone - Birthdays calendar not sycning

I am using the iCal function which updates my calendar when I add a Birthday to a Contact in Address Book. I can see the birthdays both in iCal and in Mobile Me on the web on my computer. But I can;t see the birthdays in Calendar on my iPhone.
Any ideas as to how to fix this?

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6)

Hi,

See this Apple Support document <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3634>. Apple's solution is to sync the Birthdays calendar with iTunes.

I wrote a shareware application which creates birthday calendars which sync (plus much more, including alarms).
