Can Mac Mini (2009 model) 2.0GHz/1GB 1066MHz DDR3 upgrade ram to 8gb (2x4GB)?

i've heard alot that it can be done. however on the NET there are contradicting info.
if it could be supported, OWC would sell the kit for it as they sell the "unsupported" super capacities for the laptops.

what would be the max that 1 slot can take? i heard sm say the max of the mac mini could be 6GB.

the newest mac mini only supports 2gb per slot for max of 4gb. I don't know what you are "hearing" but no one here is boasting 6gb or 8gb ram, nor is anyone selling 6 or 8gb ram for new mini.
There is an auction on eBay for a Mac Mini configured with 8GB of RAM. Don't know if I can link the auction here, so just do a search for the seller's name: francis4william.

OWC has already tried upgrading a mac mini beyond 4GB. It didn't work.
did they have a posting about it? They don't sell the 8Gb kits & I've found no one truthfully claiming this, yet OP still doesn't seem to believe me :-/
Not sure how you can say something is not possible purely based on the fact that OWC doesn't sell a kit. You have to admit that is pretty ridiculous. If you had some technical knowledge backing your statements they would hold more merit. I think the guy doesn't believe you because you don't have any real information and you are not offering any expertise.

If you will not listen to kmac1036 go to mactracker.ca and see what Ian has to say. I'm guessing that both of them agree that the only way you will get this to work is if you can get the Easter Bunny to deliver the RAM and the Tooth Fairy to install it

Yes it has and it works. The March 2009 Mac mini running 10.61 and EFI UPdate 1.2 can see and utilise 8GB RAM.
