Internal Mic Not detected.

Hey I just installed Leopard on my wife's 12in powerbook and now the internal mic is not showing up on the list of input devices on the sound control panel. Can any one tell me how to get it back on there?

I had the same problem with my internal mic. It was not listed as an option on the sound input panel. I solved the problem by going to System Preferences; clicking on "Speech"; then, under "speech recognition", choose "internal microphone" in the microphone menu; then click the "calibrate" button. Go back into the "Sound" panel and, hopefully, the internal mic will be an option.

I have to admit that I explored the rest of the options in the speech panel, but I believe that the calibration in the speech panel did the trick. I have external speakers for output and the mic now works great.

Thank you Theo. I could not figure out what was going after my internal mic suddenly vanished. What you suggested worked perfectly for me as well.

I've also recently been having issues with my internal speakers randomly not wanting to work (although this was solved with a quick nudge by plugging in and unplugging my external speakers again). I have no idea if these two problems are related.
