iWork - Pages Will not Open

I reviewed a previous post of the same problem, the solutions provided did not fix my problem.

When I open Pages or Numbers they crash immediately. I have re-installed the software, deleted the .plist files etc. still no luck.

Anyone with suggestions?

Try toggling the 32bit/64bit or Rosetta checkbox if visible in each application's Finder Get Info window. The Finder Get Info window is available when you click once on the application, and select Get Info from the File menu. If neither works, you may need to repair permissions, or reinstall the package.

Grasping at straws a bit here, but do you have any third-party templates installed? If so, you might try removing them if you can and see if that makes any difference. Another thing you can try: go to this folder

/Users/youruser/Library/Caches

and delete all the iWork-releated files (there will be at least three). Then try launching Pages and Numbers and see if that helps. If not, then you might try completely uninstalling iWork - make sure you get all the application support files in the Library/Application Support/ folder - and reinstalling and perhaps that will fix the problem.

Good luck.

Well I think I have solved my issue - one of the fonts I had installed was crashing iWork. They way I found the font is by opening Font Book and going to users in the source list, and selecting the first font and using the down key to scroll down and render each font. Font book crashed on the font that was causing issues. I relaunched font book, disabled the three fonts near the problem font (clicking on it directly crashed the app) and the re enabling the other non-problem-child fonts. Problem solved.
